  • Phoenixes

Powerful warriors, count as 2 warriors for most game effects. Deal alot of hits in battle and cannot be forced to move or moved by other players.

  • From the Ashes

Nests are special kind of buildings that are used for crafting but can also be sacrificed for more recruitment.

  • Cost of Sacrifice

Order can craft but can't hold crafted items. Vagabond cannot aid you.

  1. If you have no nests you can place one in the clearing with least enemy pieces. Then, you can place up to 2 warriors in that clearing.
  2. Cycle of Life begins: perform at least one Sacrifice:
    • Sacrifice (discard) a card.
    • Sacrifice (remove) your warrior from the board.
    • Once per turn. Sacrifice (remove) your nest from any clearing to score equal to cost indicated on space you cover with returning nest.
  1. Perform up to 3 actions:
    • Move or Battle (without Phoenixes!)
    • Recruit on clearings with nests. (1 per each nest)
    • Build: spend X cards to place nest on a clearing you rule.
  2. Perform rituals (any number of times):
    • Ritual of Power: remove 2 Order warriors from 1 clearing to place a nest there.
    • Ritual of Summoning (once per nest): spend  (or 2 matching cards instead) to place 1 Phoenix in a clearing with a nest.
    • Ritual of the Offering: craft with nests. Don't score, don't get items and immediately discard crafted card. Depending on the crafting cost:
  3. : Draw 1 card.
: Place 1 warrior on a matching clearing.
: Remove 1 enemy warrior from a matching clearing.
  4. Perform move or battle actions with your Phoenixes only (no common warriors) up to the number of covered slots on Path of Sacrifice (i.e. 4 slots let you do 4 actions divided among both phoenixes).
  1. Score indicated on rightmost visible slot in nests track.
  2. Draw 1 card +1 per each 2 covered slots on Path of Sacrifice, rounded down. Discard down to 5 cards.
  3. Ashes to Ashes: if you sacrificed a nest this turn, you can place up to 2 warriors on a clearing with any of your pieces.
  4. Cycle of Life ends: remove all sacrifice tokens from Path of Sacrifice.

Path of Sacrifice

After each sacrifice place a sacrifice token on this track. You can spend them any time during your turn to do any of the following special actions:

  • 3x : Move, ignoring rule.
  • 6x : Score 5.
  • 8x : Immediately gain additional turn after this one. Skip Birdsong phase.

  • At the end of your Evening phase, remove all leftover tokens from this track.

    Nests

X: you have to spend that many cards to build this nest using build action during your Daylight phase.
